I noticed that the last entry was listed as sent at 9:11 a.m. In fact I published it at 5:26 p.m. If anyone can tell me how to set the blog clock I will be grateful.
Phone call at 2:40 p.m. Dan has flown west along the ridge to La Ferriere against a stiff west north west headwind. At the time of the call he was walking towards Malamaire. He mentioned Col de Port which doesn't appear on my road map or Google Earth.
Dan phoned yesterday evening to say that he was preparing to camp at the Col de Bleine, the road going north from Thorenc which is 11km west and 2km north of Greolieres. I'm not sure about the ratio of flying to walking on yesterday's leg. He sounded tired so may have overdone the walking. He did say that he had flown over Greolieres.

Dan phoned from just west of Nice at 10:30 this morning to say that he was catching a bus to Chateauneuf-Grasse on the D2085. He then intended to catch another to Gourdon on the D3.

Another call at 4:45pm to say that he was in the hills just west of Gourdon having done some flying. He will spend the night in his tent in the wilderness and try to fly to Greolieres tomorrow. (Greolieres is a flying site with similarities to the Malvern Hills in that it has a host of paragliders frolicking above it when the weather is suitable.)

The blogs will be written by Gordon Heeks to allow people to keep track of Dan Heeks' adventures in the Alps.

Today is last minute preparation before flying from Birmingham to Nice tomorrow morning. Dan will find out how much of the Alps he can explore using legs for walking up hill and his paraglider for doing the rest.
